Over a thousand years ago, pilgrims traveled all the way from England to Rome. After the Eternal City, the route continued to Jerusalem through the port of Brindisi, along the ancient Via Appia.
That's according to the official EuroVelo website and it's perfect for a fantastic adventure across Europe. Every two years, a new major DOitNAU charity tour is organised and donations will be collected once again.
But let's get back to the hard facts. Chris wants to cycle from Calais to Brindisi within 21 days. It's 3,100 km and around 27,000 metres of elevation gain, so an average of 150 km per day (every day) with 1,286 metres of elevation gain per day. Who wouldn't want to use their annual holiday for that?
It's not just about the physical performance, because the aim is to raise a total of 4,000 € for the women's refuge during this period. They have never had a holiday trip with all the women and children. The team at the women's refuge are very pleased about this cooperation, but we can't achieve our common goal without you.
How do the donations come together? You pick a day, determine an amount X per kilometre cycled and whatever Chris cycles on that day, multiply it by the amount and donate generously. So if you, your friends, colleagues or even your employer want to support this project, you are welcome to write to us by email or via Instagram.
