Bikepacking from Hamburg to Gothenburg

In the summer of 2022, I cycled from Hamburg to Gothenburg along the Kattegattleden, the cycle path on Sweden's west coast. I had a drone and action cam with me. I've always wanted to make a bikepacking video like this, and thanks to Doitnau I was finally able to finish it, so enjoy watching!

A group of cyclists embark on a long-distance journey on their cargo bikes to demonstrate an alternative to polluting forms of food transport and distribution. Travelling from Münster to Amsterdam and back they collect and distribute chocolate bars, a fossil-fuel-free trade that begins with a sailing ship travelling from the Caribbean. This cycling road movie immerses us in their adventure, raises vital issues around transport and mobility in the 21st century, and highlights the resurgence of cargo bikes as alternative vehicles in the quest for a more sustainable future.

The documentary shows how a personal new beginning becomes a project that connects people. No big budget, no master plan - just motivation, friendship and the fun of riding. And by the way: a self-organised race in the middle of Erfurt. A film about setting off when everything around you actually stops.
