Rennsteig 26 Rennsteig 26
WE RIDE TOGETHER AGAINST THE CLOCK
Imagine this: You're riding your gravel bike with a group, over 200 km with tons of elevation, and the only goal is to catch the last train! Sounds like a challenge that's right up your alley? Then our ride on April 25th, 2026 is probably your thing. Here’s what you need to know:
No exit points: There’s no train station midway. If you decide to quit, you'll be riding solo back.
Keep up the pace: We need to maintain an average speed of around 20 km/h or higher. No time for cruising.
Be fit: Make sure you've already done a ride at this pace and distance before.
Respect nature: Stay on the designated route and leave nothing but happy vibes behind.
Be considerate: Show respect to other nature lovers out there.
Inclusive community: We’re all about being open and tolerant. Nationalism, racism, sexism, or discrimination of any kind won’t be tolerated.
Meeting point:
For everyone from Erfurt, we’re gathering at Willy-Brandt-Platz at 5:30 a.m. We’ll catch the first train to Eisenach at 5:54 a.m., then ride to Hörschel for the official start of the Rennsteig at 7:10 a.m. Halfway through, a small refreshment station will be waiting for us with snacks, bars, gels, and water so you can refill yourself and your bottles. To keep the station well-stocked, we’d really appreciate a small donation in advance – every bit helps! The ride is otherwise unsupported, so bring everything you’ll need.
Registration?
Heads up: Registration is open February 1–15 this year.
No forms. No clicks. Postcard only.
You send it → we draw → you get lucky (or not).
Participation is based on agreeing to the Terms (see below) of DOitNAU gUG.
We’re a fully volunteer-run project, no sponsors, no profit. To make this happen, we rely on a cost contribution from you – we recommend €20–100, depending on your income. This covers all our expenses.
On top of that, the Rennsteig is also a fundraiser for Wolfstränen e.V. 🖤
📍 April 25, 2026 – Rennsteig is going into round four.
Gravel or MTB? Feeling it?
Then: write a postcard and send it.

Before dropping your postcard in the mail:
Please read our Terms carefully. By registering, you agree to the basic rules, the liability waiver and the participation conditions.
Short version:
You ride at your own risk.
We take no responsibility for damages of any kind.
Registration is limited to 30 riders this year.
No waiting list. No roll-down.
FLINTA* (women, lesbians, inter*, non-binary, trans and agender people) will be prioritized when allocating spots this year.
Because we’re into it (and because it’s nice), registration this year happens exclusively via postcard.
📬 Timeframe: February 1–15 (arrival at our place counts)
Important:
incomplete cards → out
illegible cards → out
duplicate cards → out
Please understand:
Due to the number of entries, we can’t answer individual questions about whether your postcard has arrived.
Mid-February, all postcards go into one big bag.
Yes, literally.
That’s where we draw from.
By February 25 at the latest, you’ll get an email telling you whether you’re in.
DOitNAU gUG is non-commercial:
no fixed entry fee, no sponsors.
To cover our costs – and to raise money for Wolfstränen e.V. – we rely on your cost contribution.
💸 Recommended: €20–100, depending on your income
📩 Transfer happens after the draw
What needs to be on the postcard?
Return journey / transport
Good to know: There is no train service to our destination this year.
This means that we will organise the return journey together via carpooling/pool cars/ride sharing.
The bikes will easily fit into our van.
We will organise carpooling options for the participants' return journey.
It would be great if you could ask your friends in advance who has space in their car or can drive – this will help us all to coordinate.
We will then find a solution together in advance.
Thank you for your cooperation and solidarity🖤
